This part of the oriental coast of Asturias is also known as "coast of the dinosaurs", because of the great quantity of fossilized footprints of these animals that can be found in the beaches and cliffs of the area, which can be reached in small, easy trekking trips.

The hotel is located in the small town of La Isla, in the municipality of Colunga. The contrasting landscapes of this area begin at the bottom of the mountains of the Sierra del Sueve and end at the shores of the Cantabrian Sea
(a part of the Atlantic Ocean).
